With our proximity to the main waterway, you can be in any number of great places in just a short time. There are so many great sights to see we can't bring them all to you here on the web, you've just got to experience the Crystal Coast for yourself. We will provide you with Garmin charts and navigational orientation to help you go see what you want, or find some good fishing, perhaps just relax on the boat in a quiet cove.

Among the favored sights is the lighthouse at Cape Lookout, one of North Carolina's many historic landmarks along the sea. Many enjoy the wildlife seen around Shackleford Banks, only a short jaunt from Ahoy Boat Rentals. Carrot Island (Rachel Carson Reserve) & Horse Island are nearby and known for their wild horses.

When you launch from our centrally located docks, you'll be closer than ever to some of the finest boating there is. Immediately after leaving our docking area, you'll be within minutes of the historic downtown Beaufort waterfront. Home to the Maritime Museum, Blackbeard's house, quaint shops and restaurants as you leisurely travel along the 3-mile shoreline of Taylor's Creek. There's always the Morehead City Port & waterfront where you'll have water access to restaurants & shopping. Across the way is Sugarloaf Island with docking, trails, & beaches providing a scenic and quiet getaway in a pristine maritime forest setting. You can continue along the Bogue Sound on the Intercoastal Waterway to areas such as Emerald Isle or head east along the Back Sound which will take you past Harkers Island & on to the vast expanse of Cape lookout.

Fort Macon State Park, Radio Island, and Duke Marine Laboratory are so close they can easily be included in either a half day or full day trip. On your way you're sure to see some of North Carolina's amazing coastal wildlife. Whether it's the area's dolphins and wild horses, or the amazing birds like the osprey, herons, and egrets, you'll have no trouble filling your camera with lots of stories to share.
